internal investigations identify irregularities in CO2 levels

During the course of internal investigations irregularities were found when determining type approval CO2 levels. In a press release dated November 3, 2015, Volkswagen promises a relentless and comprehensive clarification of the issue:

• Matthias Müller: “Relentless and comprehensive clarification is our only alternative.”
• Around 800,000 Group vehicles could be affected
• Initial estimate puts economic risks at approximately 2 billion euros

(In 2016, Volkswagen found an alternative to Relentless and comprehensive clarification: cover-up.) Volkswagen dropped the Sustainability Report 2015. In the Sustainability Report 2016, no mention is made of any irregularities in determining the CO2 value.)
